So-called folksonomies present a huge problem, which is meaningfulness. For example, if I type ‘female’ in Flickr’s search box, I’m not expecting what I get, which is a page of female sparrows, blue tits and other bird-lover delights. Although, I see today that it is topped by ‘female genital mutilation,’ bearing in mind that the search results are ranked according to ‘relevance.’
