I liked this formula - it was forwarded to me by a friend and made me abruptly take stock. What I realized was that the word “argument” has such a negative connotation in itself.. I’m toying with conviction but that sounds so moral.. more importantly, that it’s how you position the message that makes the medium effective!

Thanks Shmoo. You’re right, although argument in its original sense is neutral of emotional content and needn’t be negative. I could argue for giving you a million Euros or an endless supply of ice cream! Both positive, I hope! We could change ‘argument’ to ‘message’ - that might be a better…message
